Caribbean holidays can be experienced all over the world!

December 3rd, 2009 at 06:55pm Under Travel and Leisure

The Caribbean has a massive tourism fan base. The Caribbean has nice weather, culture and a pretty nice lifestyle, that is why people like to holiday here. Surely there must be somewhere else in the world, similar to the Caribbean, but not the same place?

There is no doubt about it. The Caribbean culture may be very unique, but there are similar lifestyles and cultures across the world, everywhere has it’s own characteristics, but what’s so special about the Caribbean. New York City has just done the celebrations to the Caribbean lifestyle for its community. They arranged for the streets to be filled with people to celebrate the Caribbean community. This event happens every year, and is one of the most popular in the whole of America.

Not only this, but there are other countries and places in the world that do have a similar feel to the Caribbean islands. For instance, the Maldives is a Tropical set of islands and islets that resemble the weather from the Caribbean islands and also the luxury presented by islands like St Lucia or Barbados. Maldives holidays are very popular, and they provide a great destination for everyone to enjoy a warm and relaxed “Caribbean-like” holiday.

So where else can we go for a Caribbean like holiday? Africa has a climate similar to that of the Caribbean, and in particular Mauritius offers a great Caribbean experienced, with the same weather conditions and beautiful seas. This is probably one of the most luxurious places for anyone to go on holiday in the world. In fact this could be a better place for diving holidays. There are whale sharks around at some times of the year, so maybe even better than the Caribbean?

For some great holidays in the Caribbean, maybe you should start to consider your Christmas holidays this year?

Tour operators look forward to the boom in Christmas holidays this year!

December 3rd, 2009 at 06:55pm Under Travel and Leisure

It has come to that time of the year, the time where people need to start booking holidays for the Christmas period. Stats have shown this year that many tour operators have made a loss this year. The holiday’s district has not done very well throughout this year, mainly due to the recession, but also due to incorrect weather forecasts, indicating a warm summer in Britain.

Tour operators now believe, that because the holiday industry did so badly over the spring and summer, that they expect Christmas holidays to see a major increase in bookings over September and October. The Christmas period does receive a lot of attention for holidays any way. Hopefully what this means is that the increase in customers coming to tour operators will mean an increase in their profits.

So will the Christmas holidays start to flood in? Now that the Christmas period has come along, tour operators are competing for the passengers and customers, deals are going crazy. Looking at the figures for holiday bookings, it would seem that people want to use Christmas as a holiday away in the Caribbean as well.

St Lucia and Barbados seem to be some of the most popular holiday destinations around the world. If your looking for holidays, it appears that these holidays are most popular at Christmas. For me Christmas is all about being at home with the family, i never really thought about going away at Christmas. When I was younger and even now, the joy of a snowy Christmas always gave me such fun and excitement. When i think about Christmas time, my ideal one would be a white Christmas.

Do People really care about the weather anymore? Nowadays we don’t seem to be that concerned with snow at Christmas time now. The sun and clear blue seas are what compel us to embark on Caribbean holidays. And maybe there is nothing wrong with this, maybe Christmas is just becoming another one of those days in the year!

Can we all enjoy an American holiday?

December 3rd, 2009 at 06:55pm Under Travel and Leisure

It doesn’t matter who you are, you will have a good time on an American holiday. But is it really the place of dreams, do people really still regard America as one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world?

Some are saying that the day of the American holiday is over, and that people will only ever want to visit once. It is now suggested that luxury locations like the Maldives, Dubai and the Caribbean. Its just that some of these destinations offer even more than America does. Some people are arguing that these luxury holidays are even better than the American holiday and even better value for money.

However, how right are they? I believe that it is difficult to argue against the holiday in America, and in fact the only problem that I can find, is the time to travel and the cost. There is so much for couples, families or even the single person to do in America. Florida is one state, but it offers everyone something, families have the mental theme parks. Disney world and universal studios can offer enough fun for the entire family, not to mention other attractions on Florida holidays containing Sea World or Epcot.

Now for the couples, you may all embark on Las Vegas holidays. There will not be a single person who won’t want to go back there, unless you had a strange and unwanted wedding or lost loads of money. This is great environment for single people as well as Couples; you are guaranteed to make friends with loads of people here.

Las Vegas has also become an acceptable place to get married, some of the weddings are very stylish. Hopefully you will only do this once, but it is still a great excuse to go to America.

There has been much discussion about holidays on the decrease, but not America holidays in particular? I still say it is as strong as ever, bring on the competition, see if America holidays or Fly drive holidays are threatened!

Why are Christmas holidays booked earlier than your average holiday?

October 20th, 2009 at 09:23pm Under Travel and Leisure

If you were to be able to delve into the bookings of Christmas holidays abroad, you will see that the Christmas holiday on the whole, is booked further in advance than the normal holiday in the year. The great thing about Summer holidays, is that last minute bookings can be quite fun.

This however is not all that successful with Christmas holidays. You can’t just decide a few days before Christmas that you want to go on holiday, these things need to be planned! Going abroad requires some planning anyway, but taking the family means that you have to take every-one’s needs into account. What are you going to do with the presents; will the house be safe and what about meeting up with the rest of the external family?

These issues are the main reasons why booking a holiday last minute for Christmas won’t work. Booking a summer holiday is so much easier last minute. All you need to make sure is the house is locked up and you have some time off work, then you’re on your way. The price of luxury holidays has plummeted, so booking the holidays before hand had now become a viable option.

Finding a holiday that has spare seats on a flight available around Christmas, can be quite challenging. Booking a last minute holiday around Christmas could be very difficult, in fact a lot of places will be sold out already, although some are definitely trying to gain some extra flights and seats for families to purchase some holidays. Finding a seat on a flight, for your Christmas holiday is very difficult, that is one reason why last minute holidays aren’t always appropriate!

Luxury holidays and Winter holidays are the best way to spend your Christmas?

Weekend City Breaks in Plymouth and Tourist Attractions to See

September 30th, 2009 at 09:51pm Under Travel and Leisure

Vacations in the UK appear to be increasingly popular at the moment, most likely due to the economic downturn and the low value of the pound. The UK has many first class vacation destinations including London (the English capital city) and other fascinating cities plus a fine collection of seaside resorts such as; Blackpool, Bognor Regis, Great Yarmouth and Margate. One city often overlooked is Plymouth in the south of England.

First appearances are that Plymouth appears a little plain and fairly modern, but looking a little bit deeper and you will soon discover that the city of Plymouth has a fascinating history and a long relationship with the sea. As long ago as the sixteenth century Plymouth has had a busy port. In 1588 Francis Drake set sail from the town’s port to successfully defend England by defeating the Spanish Armada. Another moment in history occurred in sixteen twenty when the Pilgrim Fathers embarked from the port.

It is possible to enjoy cheap short breaks in Plymouth by staying in bed and breakfast in Plymouth rather than booking a plush hotel. A quick look online will show that you can book a room for as little as £29 a night and many establishments have other meals at a reasonable price, often equal to, or less expensive than local restaurants.

Visitors Attractions In Plymouth

There are numerous places of interest in Plymouth that are well worth visiting. Popular visitor attractions include; the old quay at Sutton Harbour, Merchant’s House Museum, the National Marine Aquarium and the Barbican district. A boat cruise around the naval base is an interesting way to spend some time and if you discover that you have more time to spare why not take a day trip to other places near to Plymouth, such as; Mount Edgcumbe, Saltram House or Buckland Abbey.

Saltram House is a lovely Tudor Mansion which is situated 2 miles from the town of Plymouth, Mount Edgcumbe is a further Tudor house with parklands, coastal paths and landscaped gardens, and Buckland Abbey, roughly six miles from Plymouth, is a Cistercian abbey which was once owned by Sir Francis Drake and was at a later date renovated as a family home.

If you and your family are in the process of considering spending some time in Plymouth it is immensely important that you book your  room at the earliest opportunity because, unfortunately hotels and guest houses in Plymouth tend to be alarmingly busy and are commonly fully booked for weeks or even months in advance. If you have a large family you may find that Plymouth serviced apartments are a cheaper option to bed & breakfast in Plymouth. If you are visiting Britain from abroad then you should consider making a reservation for a room in hotels in London to take in the sights of the capital city of England too.

What’s happening in the Caribbean?

August 25th, 2009 at 12:59pm Under Travel and Leisure

The Caribbean has now become the place to be on your holidays, and it has been getting all kinds of attention. You will also find that it has become the newspapers much loved area to write articles about as well, but why is this?

There has always been fascination with celebrities, where they go and what they do on their holidays. The Caribbean looks to have become the meeting place for celebrities these days. Wayne and Coleen Rooney are the two most recent to be spotted on their Barbados holidays. Coleen now showing off her pregnancy on the sunny white sandy beach of Barbados seems to be getting quite a lot of publicity.

It is almost like some of the celebrities are taunting us, we don’t all have the ability to go to the Caribbean and sometimes flights are too infrequent to fit in with our holiday schedules, but not for much longer. BA are going to be giving the public more frequent flights to areas like the Caribbean. So far BA is unmatched for its amount of flights to the Caribbean across the UK. We will be able to see these new flights starting to appear in October.

Trevor McDonald has embarked on a travel documentary this year around all of the Caribbean islands. There seems to me that there will be a massive increase in tourist revenue to these islands after the documentary has finished. So when the Documentary is released, we will all have better insight into the world of the Caribbean, our holiday ideas will be taken over by wanting to visit all these wonderful places.

St Lucia holidays and weddings abroad seem to be something that interests all Celebrities, so if you want to feel like one, then give it a go.
